Expertise in Teaching, Research and Training: I have more than 28 years of teaching, research and training experiences as a faculty, head, assistant proctor and Dean in the two reputed Public Universities, namely University of Rajshahi and National University Bangladesh. Experts in teaching on Research Methodology, Information Retrieval, Digital Libraries, Use of Information for improving Social and Human Capital, Computer-based Information Management, Information Sources and Services, Advanced Literature Search, Information Literacy, etc. I was the founder of launching new disciplines in many universities.
Expertise in Administration as a high profile Academia: Worked as a Dean for 7 years in the National University Bangladesh and launched skill-based approach in college level education. Visited more than 15 countries as a resources person/visiting teacher. Published more than 90 research papers in the recognised National and International Journals.
I had been working as Professor and Dean in National University Bangladesh since 2014. From 2017 to 2024, I have worked as a Dean of the Scholl of Undergraduate Studies. I prefer to research focusing mainly on ‘Changing lives of the socially marginalized/disadvantaged/extreme poor people through the innovative approach of information’. I have finished more than 20 projects funded by World Bank. Concern Worldwide, UNFPA, UNHCR, SSRC (Social Science Research Council, Ministry of Planning); UGC (University Grants Commission); ICT Ministry and NU (National University, Bangladesh).
I am continuing my research on ‘need-based market driven-skills for the graduates’. Based on existing market demand, as per our recommendations in 2022, NU already launce 12 skill-based post-graduate diploma programmes on Digital Marketing, Supply Chain Management, Cyber Security, Capital Market Investment, Farming Technology, ICT, Language, Entrepreneurship, Tourism and Travel Management, Security Management, Data Analytics, ICT in Accounting & Business. Therefore, as dean my prime concern is to ensure skills for my graduates.
During my Deanship, I have prepared NU AMP (National University Academic Master Plan); introduced Skill-based Approach; developed Road Map of the Blended Learning for Higher Education, launched NU On-Campus Honours Program and on-Campus PGD in LIS Program, changed curriculum with OBE (Objective Based Education); Organized Countrywide Job Fair; Provided training on Career Guidance, Free Lancing, Employability and Entrepreneurship, Soft Skills, Communications and Job Presentation for the undergraduate students. Besides these, I have maintained collaboration with different reputed industries at national level and allied foreign Universities e.g. Nottingham University Malaysia, Guzrat University India, Alighar Muslim University India, CodersTrust, A2I and ACCA Bangladesh.

I have started my career as a Faculty in Rajshahi University in 1997 and become the Head of the Department and Assistant Proctor in the year of 2000. I achieved IFLA/ALP attachment scholarship in Thailand and attached with Srinakharinwirot University, Bangkok. In 2001, I have visited Boston in USA as a US fellow and again I received NORAD fund for attending the IFLA conference in OSLO at Norway in 2005 as NORAD Fellow.
I have been awarded Ph.D. Degree in 2011 on ‘Library Automation’ from University of Dhaka. From 2004 to 2010, I have worked with UNDP, UNFPA, WTO-BFTI, MIDAS, Concern Worldwide Bangladesh as a Communication consultant. It was an excellent opportunity to me for making Industry-Academia Linkage.
From 2011 to 2013, I was in London and conducted research and training programs on DRACO (Documentation, Research and Communications) in different INGOs. During this period, I have received special grants from IFLA to visit Finland as a paper presenter.
In 2019, I was a Team Leader of the Youth Leadership program and completed 10-days Leadership Training from Nottingham University at Malaysia. In May 2024, I have visited Hanoi at Vietnam as a special speaker on ACCA-APAC Dialogue https://acca-apac-dialogue.com/

I got the opportunity to visit more than 30 countries including USA, UK, Europe, Asia as a guest lecturer, conference fellow, special speaker, session chair. Thus approximately 150 PPTs, I have delivered in country and abroad.
I hold the position as Senate, Syndicate and Academic Council Member of the NU. I am the existing Country Representative of the IOCOM (International Organization for Collaborative Outcome).
I am involved with many international and national level webinar, TV Talk-Show, Social Media Talk-show frequently and working closely with the country’s policy makers.
