Training/Workshop/Seminar Attended:

  1. One month training program on “Public Library Systems and Services in Bangladesh” from 6 August to 30 August at Central Public Library, Dhaka. Bangladesh.

2. Three months training program on “cataloguing and classification resources, completing data input-sheets, literature searching from CD-ROM Databases(Medline; pop line), circulation service, recording and processing of periodicals; preparation of current awareness bulletins and other related library activities with In-putting data into computer for in-house database, using the micro-CDS/ISIS software” from International Center for Diarrheal Disease Research, Bangladesh (ICDDR,B).

3. Workshop on “Goal oriented Project Planning” at CDL, Dhaka, conducted by Mr. Dennis K. Hamilton Planner/Programmer and Training Specialist. DTCP/UNDP, Dhaka from 28 September to October, 1998.

  1. Seminar on “Library Automation: problems and prospects” conducted by the department of Library and Information Science, University of Dhaka, from June 27 to 30, 1998.

  2. Seminar on “Research Trends in library and Information Science” at BIDS, Dhaka from May 23 to 26 1997.

  3. Participated on the National Convention for Library Networking (NACLIN) at Hyderabad University, Hyderabad, India from November 06-09, 2001. Jointly organized by Developing Library Network (DELNET) Delhi and University of Hyderabad.

  4. Three month training program on “Computer-based Information Systems in Libraries and Information Centres in Thailand” from 14 January-14 March, 2001 as a winner of the IFLA/ALP scholarships and attachments award.

  5. Attended the 67th IFLA- conference in Boston, USA from August 14-25, 2001 as a US fellow

9. Attended a 3-day training course on “Upgrading WTO Reference Centre-Bangladesh” conducted by WTO, Geneva from March 23 to March 25 held at Bangladesh Foreign Trade Institute. Mr. Gerard Tourette, Counsellor, Institute for Training and Technical Cooperation, WTO & Mr. Ricardo Romea, Project Manager, Information Division, WTO was the Resource Person of the Programme.

  1. Attended the 71st IFLA Conference in Oslo, Norway from 13-25 August, 2005 as NORAD Fellow.

  2. Attended a Five day training programme on DRACO (Documentation Research and Communication) in Bexleyheath; London from August 26- 31, 2005.

  3. Attended a 5 days (from December 14-20,2010 ) training on “skill development on Facilitation and Communication” by Communica at Dhaka, Bangladesh

  4. Attended a three months training programme on Community libraries for improving the lives of the socially disadvantaged people in Luton, UK. The training organised by Luton Borough Council UK from 11 January to 10 April 2012.

  5. Attended the 78th IFLA Conference in Helsinki, Finland from 11th August to 17th August 2012 as a speaker of the Asia and Oceania Session funded by IFLA

  6. Attended 2 days training programme on Innovative libraries for changing livelihoods of the poor people in the developing countries. The training programme was held in Paris in France from 19 June to 22 June organised by Library Professional Groups in France supported by CLLIP in UK.

  7. As a fellow of the World Bank, successfully completed two vital training courses namely 1) Linux Operating Systems and 2) Green Stone Digital Library Software, KOHA and MARC21. These were the 4-day long training programmes conducted by East West University funded by World Bank through HEQEP (Higher Education Quality Enhancement Programme) in Bangladesh from December 19-23, 2012, held in University of Rajshahi.

  8. As a resource person of LIS education, delivered series of lectures in the last couple of years in Delhi University, Bengalore University, Alighar Muslim University, Kolkata University, Jadoppur University, Colombo University, Sri lanka and Lucknow University

  9. Developed curriculum in different universities both in country and abroad at university level

  10. Taken training on outcome monitoring and developing DPP from IOCOM, Canada

  11. Received training for managing E-Resource from World bank

  12. From March 25th to as of today: More than 20 academic Webinar, 10 talkshows on contemporary social issues completed

Working as a chief co-ordinator and making 17500 video class lectures for the students of the 31 disciplines in National University to continue their education during Covid-19 .
